After a brilliant win by the Springboks over England in Durban, I travelled to the Mountain Kingdom of Lesotho to cover the Fifa World Cup Qualifier in Maseru between Lesotho and Sudan.

Sudan have missed out on the chance to take a stranglehold on Group D in the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers after being held to a 0-0 draw by Lesotho in Maseru on Sunday.

The Sudanese were the favourites going into the game having beaten African champions Zambia 2-0 at home last weekend, while Lesotho were thrashed 7-0 by Ghana in their last fixture.

The result means that Sudan head Group D with four points, followed by Ghana (three), Zambia (three) and Lesotho (one).

The gloves on the hands of some of the players and the jackets over the bodies of spectators and fans might be an indication of the bitterly cold in Maseru the past weekend. Staying focused with the fingers on the camera in the bitterly cold is indeed a challenge for the sports photographer!
